Tonya Raines is the founder of Impact Hatchery, a strategic advisory practice that helps mission-driven organizations turn ambitious ideas into strong organizations, executable strategies, and sustainable results.
With more than three decades of experience across the nonprofit and mission-driven sector, Tonya has worked at nearly every level of organizational life—from direct service and program development to executive advising, board engagement, organizational strategy, operations, and revenue development. That breadth gives her a distinctive ability to see how an organization’s people, programs, systems, finances, and strategy intersect—and to identify what must change for an organization to move forward successfully.
Tonya is particularly skilled at working with organizations during periods of growth, transition, or complexity. She helps leaders clarify direction, strengthen internal infrastructure, align teams and stakeholders, redesign processes, develop sustainable revenue strategies, and translate strategic decisions into practical implementation plans.
Her work is grounded in a simple belief: a good strategy should not end with a report. Organizations need the structures, resources, leadership alignment, and execution support required to carry the strategy through.
Throughout her career, Tonya has built programs and organizational functions from the ground up, coached executives and emerging leaders, facilitated cross-functional change, strengthened operational and revenue systems, and helped organizations secure approximately $20 million in philanthropic investment. She is known for combining systems thinking with a highly relational leadership style—building trust, asking the questions that surface the real issue, and helping people move from uncertainty or competing perspectives toward shared direction and action.
Through Impact Hatchery, Tonya works alongside CEOs, executive teams, boards, and organizational leaders as both a strategic thought partner and an implementation partner. Her work spans strategic planning, organizational effectiveness, operational design, leadership alignment, revenue architecture, organizational assessment, and change implementation.
Tonya holds a Master of Organizational Leadership with a nonprofit emphasis and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Counseling.
