Implementation Engagement

A sound plan matters. Execution determines whether it works.

Knowing what needs to change is only the beginning.

Organizations frequently have strong strategies and capable leaders but lack the time, internal capacity, project leadership, or specialized support required to carry significant change through implementation.

Impact Hatchery can remain engaged after the Organizational Evaluation to help leadership turn the approved plan into operating reality.

Implementation is a separate engagement and is scoped around the specific priorities, workstreams, and level of support the organization requires.

How We Support Implementation

Impact Hatchery may:

  • Translate recommendations into clear workstreams and priorities

  • Establish milestones, owners, deadlines, and accountability

  • Facilitate executive and board decisions

  • Coordinate staff, departments, and outside specialists

  • Help build or improve systems, processes, workflows, and tools

  • Monitor implementation progress and emerging risks

  • Identify and resolve obstacles that are slowing execution

  • Support communication with funders and other stakeholders when appropriate

  • Evaluate whether the changes are producing the intended results

  • Adjust the implementation plan as conditions change

  • Transfer responsibility to internal leaders as the organization becomes ready to sustain the work independently

Three Levels of Implementation Support

Strategic Implementation Advisor

You lead the work. Impact Hatchery helps keep it moving.

Designed for organizations with strong internal capacity that primarily need experienced strategic guidance, accountability, decision support, and an objective outside perspective.

Impact Hatchery helps leadership monitor progress, work through obstacles, prepare major decisions, and keep implementation aligned with the approved plan.

Implementation Partner

We drive the work together.

Designed for organizations that have internal leadership capacity but need additional senior-level support to coordinate and execute significant change.

Impact Hatchery works alongside leadership to manage the implementation plan, lead selected workstreams, coordinate across functions, establish systems and accountability, and keep multiple priorities moving toward completion.

Embedded Transition Lead

Impact Hatchery temporarily provides the implementation capacity the organization does not currently have.

Designed for significant organizational transitions, restructuring, rapid growth, leadership change, major funding disruption, or other situations requiring concentrated executive-level implementation leadership.

Impact Hatchery assumes substantial responsibility for coordinating the transition while working closely with organizational leadership and the board. As the new structure, systems, and responsibilities take hold, ownership is intentionally transferred back into the organization.

Implementation Has an Endpoint

The purpose of an Impact Hatchery implementation engagement is not to create long-term dependence on outside consulting.

From the beginning, the work is designed to strengthen internal capacity, establish clear ownership, build functioning systems, and equip leadership to sustain the new direction.

The goal is straightforward:

Make the approved change work—and leave the organization stronger and better equipped to carry it forward.

Investment

Implementation engagements are scoped after the organization has established its direction and priorities. Investment reflects the complexity and duration of the work, the number of implementation workstreams, the level of Impact Hatchery responsibility, and any specialized expertise required.
